Leaving Home

Yesterday, in my garden, I found this gorgeous monarch on my parsley and his empty chrysalis nearby.

I need to leave my home this month, too.
I'm losing my view and he's getting one.
We are both having to find courage to stretch our wings elsewhere.
And have faith we'll find our way home.

  1. It's really cruel to just say you have to leave your home without any further explanation. Forever? Temporarily? Wha???

  2. Alas, yes, forever. The loft from which I have a Squids Eye View has been sold by its owner. And unfortunately, I'm NOT the owner. I will miss my slice of the ocean view and Ozzie will miss the 14 windowsills as he tracks the birds on their daily flights. I am sad to leave here. There was love in this loft. But, then again, unexpectedly, there was heartache, too. But, maybe there will ONLY be love in the next home from which I will have a Squids Eye View. Thanks for reading about my little garden adventures.

  3. I'm sorry to hear that you have to leave your home. Hopefully the next one is just as fabulous.
